Meet The Habitual Entrepreneur!

Welcome welcome!  Yeah, that was two welcomes!  Pretty much because I'm excited you are actually reading this :)

My name is Jo, I'm one of MANY habitual entrepreneurs who has journeyed down the path of self-employment.  And like those manys, I have tried MANY, MANY times to make a go of different ideas.  Let's be honest for a minute, everyone is learning for their own version of the 'American Dream' (whatever that is), whether they want to admit it or not.

There are those who are content working for the man, and there are those who frankly just can't stand it.  Sadly, these days, there are tons of people who don't want to work for others because they are too lazy to succeed in that position.  Let's be frank, our society is getting lazier, and as a early 30 something, I have to admit, my generation is one of the worst.

But this isn't a story of a girl who is too lazy to succeed working for others.  I'm good at my job, and I've been an asset at every company I've worked for.  I found my niche of working for smaller companies because I suppose in a sense, it's closer to my dream of working for myself.  Not only do I not have to deal with major bureaucratic crap and 'red tape' but I also get the satisfaction of seeing the direct impact of my role in the company.  I love that feeling, and I don't understand people who can be in these major companies and just be a number.

Anyway, while I do work full time right now, it is my mission one way or another to sometime soon, be my own boss, and run my own successful company, brand or whatever it ends up being as my shining star.  Up to now, I've tried TONS of things...  baking company, PR firm, tea shop, bulk home goods store, home improvement website, house flipping (still living in my first flip though), blogs, jewelry shop, Etsy stores, graphic designs (like Zazzle & 99 Designs) side jobs (both in person and online sites like Elance), online survey companies, hell, I even signed up for an online 'jury' website.  I'll share about these different ventures and how far I got with each, and what I've learned from them.

----------

Why The Habitual Entrepreneur?  Because like many others before me, I have started (and stopped) tons of ideas already on this role I'm on.  This site is a combination of my trials and tribulations, my progress going forward (and likely some failures), I hope to also introduce you to like minded people who have either failed and learned from it, or taken their past experiences and turned them into a successful idea on their way to self sufficiency.

I'd love to hear from you, what you've gone through, what you've learned, and hopefully how you have succeeded.  Hopefully The Habitual Entrepreneur will become a home for people to offer each other advice and support, because I'd love that too.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you join me on this journey!
